Hello gentle readers!
I hope you're doing well. October was an okay month although we lost a member of our family. Our hound-lab mix, Sheldon passed away suddenly the morning of October 12th. He was a rescue from our county animal shelter and was with us for ten years. He was a real sweetheart and our only male dog.
A sweet boy, he was gentle and kind. When we first rescued him, he was afraid of everything--people, other dogs, automatic doors. We even lost him once for about nine days after he'd gotten out of the yard. He was returned to us when a county animal control person scanned his chip. The house is empty without him, for sure.
Now that we have entered a new month, I've set my sights on getting into Sarra Cannon's Heartbreathing's Rough Draft Challenge. http://roughdraftchallenge.com if you're interested. I'm planning on writing 50k this month in my Demon War Chronicles series and having it ready to start revisions and edits in January.
Other than that, it's life as usual. I'm doing my best to stay productive, which means limiting social media. I am a doomscroller and with all the stuff going on in the world, it can not only be addictive but also be spirit crushing. I'm trying to keep a balance between my mental health and current events.

I'm plugging away at a story I started in August for a Book In A Month. I'm doing a BIAW this week and I hit my goal two days early. I've been playing on Discord doing writing events and sprinting. They have the Global Write In Crawl and I'm in a couple of other writing servers. There's this event called a Crawl. Each day there's a set of events you're supposed to be doing.
