Memorial Day

Hello Gentle Readers!
I hope you're doing well and facing a relaxing holiday weekend to be spent with family and friends, or at least able to take a little break to rest and repair your psyche.
As a retired nurse, though I know this is not the case for a lot of people. You work a high demand job, either in healthcare--where there is no consistent time off schedule, or you get the chance to really pull in extra money in the retail and service industry where holidays mean the chance for more pay or more tips, or whatever your job provides for you. For you all, I wish it to be pleasant and profitable time for you.
I want to thank these fine people in the service and retail industries. You make our lives better and you certainly don't deserve the mistreatment you often get.
Add to that, Memorial Day is a big deal. It's more than just a time for a break, a cookout or celebrating our lives with another day off of work.
Memorial Day is about those who gave their lives so we could continue to thrive in as free and safe environment in this crazy and dangerous world. It doesn't guarantee a calm and easy life, true enough but it does make it possible and for that I know I am thankful.
So, on this weekend, I ask that you take a moment to remember and honor those who gave all. We owe them gratitude, respect and a place in our memory forever. Why we can never fully repay it, we can continue to live the lives they have provided for us.
Everybody have a good, safe and relaxing weekend. We'll chat later!
Happy Reading:
Pam
